Effective Email Marketing Techniques

You've heard of email marketing campaigns, but aren't sure how to launch a campaign without annoying customers with unwanted spam. Check out these simple guidelines on building a successful, positive email marketing campaign that will entice customers, not scare them away: Make sure the customer has given you permission to email them. Make sure you asked for permission to email on whatever comment card or Web site sign in you used to get the email address in the first place. If the customer is aware that you intend to email them, your campaign won't come as an unwelcome surprise. Include helpful or interesting information in every email you send. While you may be using your emails to communicate promotions and specials, you’ll want to include some sort of useful blurb as well – something that will interest your reader and make them look forward to receiving your emails, instead of resenting them. Don't flood customers with emails. Send emails that are valuable enough for your customer to appreciate them. If you send emails that feel like spam or hardcore sales pitches, you'll turn off your audience and they won't check out your emails at all. Provide a simple opt-out click-through on each email. Make sure your customers can opt out of your email campaign easily so they won't get mad at your company while trying to figure out how to escape your emails. Personalize the subject line as much as possible. Make it obvious in the subject line that the customer will be rewarded for opening the email by mentioning a specific offer or information. State promotions and offers clearly and plainly. Establish a clear reward for the customer so he or she will want to open your email and visit your Web site. Remember, even one email that lacks value may send the rest of your emails to the trash bin unopened. @@OPTIN@@.
